Good placement protects airflow, defrost drainage and acoustic comfort. Site design matters as much as the equipment.
Breathing room in winter
The unit must remain clear of snow and maintain the manufacturer’s required airflow. Its base and elevation should suit local conditions.
Managing defrost water
Defrost creates water that can refreeze. Plan drainage away from walkways, foundations and areas where ice could create a hazard.
Reducing disturbance
Consider bedrooms, windows, neighbours and sound-reflective surfaces. Ask for the published sound rating and planned vibration controls.
